The University of Texas at Arlington - Arlington Technology Incubator (ATI), has occupied its new building since 2003. This building, financed by a $2 million gift/grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce, now hosts client companies primarily based upon UT Arlington technologies.
The program is an integral part of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce Research and Technology Initiative designed to stimulate both UT Arlington and the economy of the city and region by creating a technology cluster utilizing UT Arlington technologies as a driving force, and is supported by an extensive body of volunteers including business people, educators, engineers and scientists.
